XtremeMac Luna alarm clock for iPod
Right. It’s decided. I hate XtremeMac. They’ve crossed the line so that instead of idly pondering their irritating habits, I’m trying to squeeze between the bricks in my house in my haste to come and slap them silly, because doors are too slow.
I’ll leave their language skills, because I’ve covered XtremeMac’s illiteracy elsewhere. Having said that: ‘Luna’? You’ve clearly just lopped an R off that - and why? Anyway, I must hold myself back, because there’s new evidence that they’re a gang of… of… I haven’t decided whether I’m going to swear on this site yet, so I’ll not say what they are.
I’m going to have to quote them to give the full extent of my problem. The XtremeMac Luna is, apparently, “the world’s most intelligent alarm clock for iPod”. That’s not a hotly-contested mantle, you wouldn’t have thought. Just how many companies deem it neccessary to replace a perfectly decent, functional piece of equipment (an alarm clock) with something ostensibly the same, only which is wholly dependent on your possessing a second, entirely unrelated piece of equipment (an iPod).
You can also - and I quote: “customize your sleeping and waking experience”. And here was me thinking that being asleep was pretty much unchangeable. However, if you read further, you’ll find that the scope for customisation is really very limited. “You can customize settings like alarm volume, display brightness, snooze time and much more.” If that’s what they’re explicitly boasting about, I dread to think what ‘much more’ entails.
XtremeMac want to replace everything in your life with the exact same thing ‘for iPod’. What happens if you lose your iPod? I’ll tell you what - you can’t wake up, make toast, coffee, watch TV, open your doors, phone anyone for help. You can’t do anything because it all hinges on your iPod. I think that’s chaos theory. I know it’s pointless.
